Mama

Colin finally says Mom now, or more like mom-mom-mom. I'll give him credit for Dad first, followed by dog, Mom, that, eyes (his favorite body part to identify), and various odd sounds that have meaning, like 'ta' for light and 'buh' for bunny. There are new sounds daily, and I'm slowly decoding them. 'That' is definitely the most popular word, being said at least 100 times a day when he sees anything interesting, along with a pointing finger of course. We're working on mastering the movements of the song 'head, shoulders, knees and toes'.

The new baby is keeping me alert, she's always on the move. She gets the hiccups now, and pokes out body parts all the time, which leads to a fun guessing game for us. December 14th is our c-section, so only 7 more weeks, max. I've been slowing down a lot lately with back issues, which is bad timing, because the weather's finally cool enough to be outside, and Colin loves the outdoors. Its all worth it, but I'll be happy to be able to walk around comfortably again. Kevin's more then pulling his weight right now, but he's a great sport about it all.

Balancing

We've had a big month, Colin had his first birthday, and we found out that in December, we'll have a daughter. Colin is just starting to stand on his own for about a second, and he can now climb the stairs quickly, and without help. His favorite thing to do is wrestle, and he still loves to stack things. He just had his 4th tooth break through yesterday.

We're starting to get ready for another baby, planning the room, thinking about names. She's already much more active then Colin was when I was pregnant. Its hard to believe its only 4 months away. We can't wait to meet her.

Growing

Everyone's growing too fast around here, except Kevin, he's as thin as always. Colin's all over the place now, pulling up on everything, getting into everything. He walks along furniture, waves, and falls asleep by himself. Its hard to believe he'll be a year old in a month. He got his first tooth in early June, now he has both bottom center teeth. I had some great pictures of it, but deleted them accidentally. I'm pretty sure he's trying to say 'dog' now, but he still won't attempt 'ma', so I'm a little hurt.

The new baby is doing great, I'm 15 weeks along now, and still feeling pretty good. I'm tired, and feeling a little round, but better this time then the last pregnancy. A stranger noticed I was pregnant this past weekend, so I guess I'm showing a little bit. Kevin just built some shelves in the garage so we could move some things out of the other bedroom and start getting it ready for the new baby. We'll find out the sex at the end of July, so then we can pick a paint color.

Finally

Colin's doing great, he's eating well and rolling all over the house now. At his 9 month appointment he was 31" (97+ percentile) and 20 pounds, 9 oz. (50 percentile). He's trying to pull up on things now, and usually gets up to 1 foot and 1 knee. He's saying 'dada' all the time, although he doesn't associate it with Kevin yet.

The new baby is doing great, we got to hear his or her heartbeat last week, my due date was moved to December 22nd. I'm feeling pretty good. We're really excited that the kids will be so close in age.

I finally have started a web site where you can come to see pictures and videos of Colin. I'll probably try to add some pictures monthly. I wouldn't expect too much 'blogging', more just pictures and videos.

I have to thank Dave and Erica, who I'm blatantly copying with this site, you guys rock.
